Welcome to Coffee4Conservatives, a conservative grass-roots effort started in the small rural town of Franktown, Colorado in October 2009.
Franktown is a ranching community south of Denver in unincorporated Douglas County. Our goal is to get like-minded
people together to preserve the traditional values we believe in. We intend to gather information on our local, state
and national representatives and issues and make informed choices when we vote.
Going into 2012 and beyond, there will be many opportunities to make a difference in the political arena. We
want to continue to protect our Constitution and the liberties we enjoy as Americans and the first step is to get informed.
Please come on in, grab a cup of "joe" and have a seat. We're all in this together. And remember,
we all have to remain cognizant of the fact that our intentions are pure, but that we cannot continue to cater to representatives
or vote for issues that do not align with our values. We need to "rediscover" our core beliefs and gain our
original footing in order to fiscally and morally save our country.
Let's
begin first of all by defining what we feel a conservative represents. Most of us probably can agree that
a conservative believes in tradition. From here though it gets more complicated - there are fiscal conservatives, social
conservatives, neoconservatives, cultural conservatives, etc. Let's try and simplify things as a start. We
think you'd agree that most conservatives believe in:
smaller
government, lower taxes and fiscal responsibility;
free market capitalism, free trade and less regulation;
being self-reliant;
family and
religion; and
a strong national defense.
And let's start with a simple example of a tradition
that we hold near and dear to our hearts - the Pledge of Allegiance. Do you remember saying it when you were a kid? We still recite it
now but not nearly as often -- we might recite the "Allegiance" at a professional sporting event, a little
league game, a school function or a political luncheon. But we've strayed from the path of upholding
the respect our flag so deserves. This is one of the many reasons we formed this group. Americans
have taken an oath of loyalty to the republic of the United States of America. We know that Americans
have not forgotten this oath but just need to bring it to the forefronts of our minds again. If you are a conservative,
welcome!!! If you're not but believe in the legitimacy of the conservative values, welcome!!! We're all in this
together so come join us for a good hot cup of joe (plumbers included).
Well first, you may want to
begin by browsing our website to understand what's happening in your community. Or you may want to do
further research through our related links and delve in a little deeper. Regardless of what you choose, we'll be right
here alongside you. Whether we're actually having a "real" cup of coffee at one of our upcoming Coffee4Conservatives' meetings or just staying informed by going to a meeting or visiting
a hyperlink, it will make a difference. We are just getting acquainted ourselves and want to encourage you to do
the same. We will post recurring events that may be of interest to you as well as events that will be critical to our
future. We want to encourage you to get involved by coming to a meeting. We
will sit down and discuss our passions, our ideals and our concerns so that collectively we can contribute to a society that
thrives on the values that we all believe in - self-responsibility, honesty, integrity and accountability.
And from time to time, we may host or co-host informative meetings with our local, state
or national representatives to keep you up to speed on the latest political elections and whether or not our representatives'
views are in step with ours. Our primary focus will be to educate each other so that come election time, we can
vote for the most appropriate candidates or on issues relevant to our communities. However, regardless of whether
or not you end up having coffee with us or another group, just get involved. It's not too late. Get engaged. Get informed. Be heard. Speak the truth. God Bless You and God Bless
America.
