Welcome to Coffee4Conservatives,
a conservative grass-roots effort started in the small rural town of Franktown, Colorado.
Franktown is a ranching community south of Denver in unincorporated Douglas County. Our goal is to get like-minded
people together to preserve the traditional values we believe in. We intend to collectively gather information on our
local, state and national representatives and make informed choices when we vote.
Going
into 2010 and beyond, there will be many opportunities to make a difference in the political arena. And we want to protect
our Constitution and the liberties we enjoy as Americans. So please come on in, grab a cup of "joe" and have
a seat. We're all in this together. And remember, we all have to remain cognizant of the fact that our intentions
are pure but that we cannot continue to cater to representatives that don't represent our values. We need to "rediscover"
our core beliefs and gain our original footing.
Let's begin first of all by defining what
we feel a conservative represents. Most of us probably can agree that a conservative believes in tradition.
From here though it gets more complicated - there are fiscal conservatives, social conservatives, neoconservatives,
cultural conservatives, etc. Let's try and simplify things as a start. We think you'd agree that most conservatives
believe in:
smaller government, lower taxes and fiscal responsibility;
free market capitalism, free trade and less regulation;
being
self-reliant;
family and religion; and
a strong national defense.
And let's start with
a simple example of a tradition that we hold near and dear to our hearts - the Pledge of Allegiance. Do you remember saying
it when you were a kid? We still recite it now but not nearly as often -- we might recite the "Allegiance" at
a professional sporting event, a little league game, a school function or a political luncheon. But we've
strayed from the path of upholding the respect our flag so deserves. This is one of the many reasons we formed
this group. Americans have taken an oath of loyalty to the republic of the United States
of America. We know that Americans have not forgotten this oath but just need to bring it to the
forefronts of our minds again. If you are a conservative, welcome!!! If you're not but believe in the legitimacy
of the conservative values, welcome!!! We're all in this together so come join us for a good hot cup of joe (plumbers
included).
Well first, you may want to begin by browsing
our website to understand what's happening in your community. Or you may want to do further research through our
related links and delve in a little deeper. Regardless of what you choose, we'll be right here alongside you.
Whether we're actually having a "real" cup of coffee at one of our upcoming Coffee4Conservatives
meetings or just staying informed by going to a meeting or visiting a hyperlink, it will make a difference. We are just
getting acquainted ourselves and want to encourage you to do the same. We will post recurring events that may be of
interest to you as well as events that will be critical to our future. And beginning
in January 2010, we will start this group off for the very first time by meeting face to face.
We will sit down and discuss our passions, our ideals and our concerns so that we collectively can contribute to a society
that thrives on the values that we all believe in - self-responsibility, honesty, integrity and accountability.
And from time to time, we may host or co-host informative meetings with our local, state or national
representatives to keep you up to speed on the latest political elections and whether or not our representatives' views
are in step with ours. Our primary focus will be to educate each other so that come election time, we can vote
for the most appropriate candidates. However, regardless of whether or not you end up having coffee with us or
another group, just get involved. It's not too late. Stand up. Be heard. Remember
the Constitution. Be a patriot. Be an upstanding citizen. Be thirsty for information. God Bless You and God Bless America.
